MSG will have a jam-packed New Year’s Day programming line-up of New York Knicks action, starting with five “Knicks in 60” telecasts, which are condensed, hour-long versions of games. New Year’s with the Knicks begins at 1 p.m. and all five shows include interviews with Knicks legend and MSG announcer Walt “Clyde” Frazier.

These incredible chapters in Knicks history include the second game of Bernard King’s back-to-back 50-point games in 1984; Patrick Ewing’s first 50-point game in 1990; Allan Houston scoring a career high 53 points against the Lakers in 2003; David Lee notching 37 points and grabbing 20 rebounds in the same game Chris Duhon dished out a franchise-record 22 assists last season against Golden State; and “The Dunk” game ¬– John Starks slicing through the Chicago Bulls’ defense to slam home two crucial points during Game Two of the Eastern Conference Finals in 1993.

“He personified New York,” Frazier said about Starks during the MSG interviews. “He was hell-bent, steadfast, erratic, dramatic, acrobatic [and] charismatic”

The hoops hoopla continues with the premier of the latest installment of “The Mike D’Antoni Show Presented by Mercedes-Benz” at 6:30 p.m., followed by the “Chase Knicks Pre-Game Show” and the live airing of “Friday Night Knicks” as the team travels to play the Atlanta Hawks.
